From fish retailer to producer of fish snacks for pets

Until 2008, Gert Bakker passionately ran his own fish stall in Almere. The inspiration for Petsfish came one day when he caught his dog eating fish leftovers. This led to the idea of producing fish snacks for dogs. His dedication is reflected in the quality of the snacks, which only use fresh fish from Urk - the only ingredient of his famous dog snacks.

PetsFish works together with the Work Cooperative, a foundation that helps people find a job in collaboration with municipalities and the UWV. We offer a workplace for people with a 'backpack' or who are at a distance from the labor market. This can vary from ex-addicts in recovery phase to people with disabilities, with refugee status, etc. Our team is therefore remarkably diverse.
